听力原文： Last summer, I took my first flight from London to New York. I boarded the plane at Crayon Airfield and, from that moment on, my life was arranged for me on the trip. First, I was directed to my seat by the stewardess, and then when the plane was ready to take off, the other passengers and I were told to fasten our seat belts. When the plane landed, I was almost sorry to get off and have to start doing things for myself again.

We will have lunch in the central Praça do Comércio and then take the metro to the modern Parque das Nações — the site of the Expo, which has some stunning architecture. In the evening, you are free to enjoy whatever part of the city you wish.
SUNDAY 21st June
A coach will take us out of the city to visit Sintra, summer residence of the kings of Portugal. Here, we will see the breathtaking Palácio Nacional and walk around Sintra’s beautiful woods and parks. On our way back, we will stop at Cascais, just half an hour from the capital. This is a real Portuguese beach resort, full of local people and crammed with restaurants, beach cafés and discos. After a relaxing dinner on the beach, the coach will take us back to the hotel. Our return flight leaves early on Monday morning.

Last night after dinner I told my family the bad news. 1 had this class assignment to monitor our use of energy at home for a week. Our family got an F.

We who take sight for granted can draw pictures of scent, but we have no language for doing it the other way about, no way to represent something visually familiar by means of actual scent. Most humans cannot know, with their limited noses, what they can imagine about being deaf, blind, mute, or paralyzed. On leave for four days, Nobel and I drove across Scotland to the west coast and took the ferry (渡船) over to Skye. The small stone quay (码头) was spotted with shops; a bus was drawn up by the waterside, a hotel advertisement on its side. I looked at Nobel and he nodded. We had come pre-pared to be disappointed. We stood a while at the window. The night was clear and our heads felt clear and cold as the air.
